MFB: Episode 4 Review

Alright, here we go! I'm finally going to start blogging about my watching of Metal Fight Beyblade.
I ended up watching the Japanese dub today because I couldn't find the English. Woe is me. I hope it doesn't do that thing that 4kids did where they jumped around and wanted to do things "their own way". I'll just end up being confused later. WHATEVER.

Let's talk about the opening!

I really like it. It's upbeat and happy!!! I actually like the vocals. Some people might find them annoying, but I don't mind them at all! Two things I don't care for, however, are how long it is. How long, exactly? Like, a minute and a half. That's crossing the line just a little. After watching it once, I'm going to skip it until a new one comes out. AND THOSE SYNTHSISERS. I laughed. I'm sorry. But I mean, it's only a song!

Anyway, onto the actual episode.

Okay, we open up (sort of) with one of my favourite character so far. I mean, I honestly don't have a lot to judge them by yet, but I really like this guy.

Why?

Because he looks tough, and he is tough. I hate it when they have a tough looking guy who ends up acting like the Cowardly Lion on the inside. It used to be nice, but now it's overdone.

I have a feeling I'm going to be very disappointed later...

Anyway, he's really passionate. I like that. Blah blah I don't even remember his name, but I'm excited to see how he progresses. Especially because I think he does join our heroes later in the series, right?

Aw, man... They're actually fighting now. Good thing Kyouya's in it. I like Kyouya. I just... I REALLY LIKE THE VILLAINS THEY'RE SHOWING US IN THIS SHOW (so far)! The designs are great, the voice acting is good, and I'm really curious as to what that guy in the suit wants with both of them. It's like some underground gang.

What's up with their hideout, anyway? Everything in the city is modern except for the hideout. Talk about suspicious!

Why is Benkei injured? (I'm going to call him Eggs Bennie. It's fitting. Don't lie to me!) This happens in these kinds of dueling shows a lot. I think Kyouya was physically attacking him with the Bey, though, so just kidding.

He's so pointlessly cruel. That's good for a villain.

I WANT BACKSTORIES.

I think I'm asking for too much when I'm only on episode 4, though. Sigh.
So, Eggs Bennie is defeated and he decides to team up with Kyouya- I think- for God knows what reason (Wait, he just said it- he loves his "overwhelming power". Makes sense for Eggs Bennie.) and we have this stereotypical anime sketch background thing going on here. There wasn't too much fighting- yet- but it was a good amount and it moved the story along. Fair enough.

Wait. Why are we back in the warehouse with Dark Bull? Was that a flashback? Are they having compatibility issues? DO BEYS HAVE FEELINGS?!

Damn it.

I NEVER SEEM TO CATCH THESE THINGS. ;__;

We're back with our beloved main characters. Excuse me while I try to hold in my vomit.

Maybe I'll like them... Someday.

Don't get me wrong, I like Kenta. It's Ginga and Madoka (that's her name, right?) I don't really care for. BUT LIKE EVERYTHING ELSE IN THIS SHOW, I'M JUDGING IT WAY TOO EARLY.

I really hate how the other minor/background character designs are kind of plain. As someone who adores character design, it's always been a pet peeve of mine.

Meanwhile, Ginger tries to add comic relief- and fails- while I actually learn valuable info about Beys.

JK I JUST LAUGHED AT GINGER OMG HAHA HOT DOG

Excuse me.

HOW DO THEY JUST KNOW THESE THINGS ABOUT THE BEYS DOES IT COME ON THE PACKAGE DO BEYS EVEN COME IN PACKAGING LIKE THEY DO IN REAL LIFE HELP ME

The way the voice actors say "banana" makes me giggle.

And doesn't that opening look like a cow to you?

CALLED IT.

Oh, wait, it's Dark Bull, isn't it?

I'm too good at this.

Eggs Bennie honestly is making me a little nervous at this point. I'm scared of what's going to happen to both Ginger and his Bey. Just because, they get like, emotionally attached to them? So not only is it bad for the Bey, it's bad for the Bladers as well...

I'm getting into this. Oh my gosh.

So, they fight. Yawn. They displayed good sportsmanship, which I noticed... for some reason.

Afterwards, they get a burger, which I found funny because burgers are made from cows, and this episode had a bull theme... yeah.

OH, GINGER, SO CONSIDERATE

Okay so I never listened to the ending, but I really like it. Like, out of A BILLION ANIME ENDINGS I'VE HEARD, this one is good. It's mellow, but not boring.

All in all, this episode has... kind of sold me. I'm definitely going to keep watching.

And listening to the ending...
